Frequently Asked Voice Over Questions
Q. What is the typical turn around for a voice over?
A. This varies from 2 hours to 48 hours or more depending on the type of project, your time zone vs the talent's time zone, and how fast we receive any follow up information we need to complete your order. Turnaround begins when the talent confirms receipt of your script, NOT when your order is placed. We do not guarantee turn around but will do everything we can to make sure your order is finished by your deadline.
Q. Do you offer refunds?
A. A full refund is only provided if:
1. The talent you choose does not complete your order. You can then request a new talent and apply your previous payment or receive your refund in full.
2. If the talent has not received your script and/or has not begun to work on it.
Due to the nature of voice over, we do not offer refunds due to performance. You will be provided at least two recuts of your script if you are not satisfied with the voice over.
Q. Can I conduct a live directed session through Source Connect or Zoom with a Voice Talent?
A. It is strictly up to the talent if they will agree to it and/or charge a fee for doing so. Please contact us before you place your order to confirm this request.
Q. What happens if I am unhappy with my voice over?
A. We offer up to 2 recuts without a script change. For all scripts over 2 minutes, if you requested an audition from a talent, and made a purchase based on that audition, but the talent did not produce the voice over to the audition standards, then you can request a recut of the entire script. If there are simply some small sections of the finished voice over you want to recut, these are limited to two. After that, there will be a session fee charged.
Complimentary recuts DO NOT apply to script changes.
In addition, we STRONGLY urge you to provide pronunciation guides for hard to pronounce words or geographical locations. Voice Talent are not responsible for researching correct pronunciations. Also, if there is a word or name that is pronounced differently in your region please notate this in your script. Example: Route vs. Root; Plaza vs. Plahza.
If you are still not satisfied and would like to use another talent you will have to place another order.
Q. Can I change the script once it has been voiced?
A. We're sorry but script changes require a new fee. The fee usually is a smaller "session fee" depending on how much script is changed. We will send you a quote upon request. We STRONGLY urge you to verify and approve the final script before submitting the order.
Q. Will the voice over be edited?
A. Yes, all our voice overs are edited before delivery. For "multiple voice' projects on one audio file, projects that require music, or elearning projects that require file separation, you will need to request an audio production quote from us. Talent do not provide these services.
Q. Do you guarantee the quality of your voice overs?
A. Yes. Every voice over we receive from our talent go through a quality control review. Anything that does not pass our policies, we will correct before sending the finished audio to you.
Q. Can I get the voiceover delivered in 48khz 24-bit wav format?
A. Yes! Just tell us when you place your order. Our default formats are High Quality MP3, 24 bit/44.1 WAV and AIFF.
Q. Will I "own" the voiceover once I purchase it?
A. Yes. Our voice talents have agreed to allow a buyout in perpetuity for voiceovers. However, this does not apply to national broadcast or National streaming commercials, or conflicts. Please contact us beforehand to discuss.
